Restaurant fire "Porkchop Chicago BBQ" on Broadway near Devon Ave Chicago

Barbecue restaurant Porkchop Chicago BBQ at 6341 N. Broadway in Chicago was significantly damaged by fire Saturday afternoon, August 30, 2025. A firefighter suffered a minor injury. The fire started in the rear of Porkchop Chicago BBQ, but quickly extended to the attic, according to Chicago Fire Department District Chief Scott Shawaluk. Two women found shot at apartment on South Essex Ave in Chicago, one dies

Chicago police, fire, and EMS responded about 11:56 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025 to a report of a shooting in the block of 7700 South Essex Avenue in Chicago. Inside the apartment, police discovered a 25-year-old woman with two gunshot wounds in the abdomen, and one gunsthot wound in the left leg. The woman was transported by Chicago Fire Department EMS paramedics to University of Chicago Hospital where she was pronounced dead. A 23 year-old woman was discovered with two gunshot wounds in the right leg and one gunshot wound in the left knee. She was transported by EMS to an undisclosed hospital. Four people shot on Knox Ave south of Montrose Ave near Portage Park neighborhood Chicago

According to the Chicago Police Department, victims were walking on the sidewalk in the block of 4200 North Knox about 2:24 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2024 when occupants in a dark sedan fired shots.  A 24-year-old male was driven to Community First hospital and was transferred to Illinois Masonic in good condition with gsw’s to the buttocks and groin area.  A 25-year-old male was driven to Community First hospital and was transferred to Illinois Masonic in good condition with gsw’s to the buttocks and left leg.  A 20-year-old male was transported by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Illinois Masonic -- listed in good condition with a graze wound to the left arm.  A 24-year-old male was transported by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Ill Masonic -- listed  in good condition with a graze wound to the neck.  According to the Chicago Police Department, there is no one in custody and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investiga...

Chicago Police warn of three recent armed robberies in Chinatown

CPD warned the public of three armed robberies reported on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024, one occurring around 1:30 a.m. and two occurring just before midnight in the Chinatown neighborhood.
