Four people shot on Knox Ave south of Montrose Ave near Portage Park neighborhood Chicago

According to the Chicago Police Department, victims were walking on the sidewalk in the block of 4200 North Knox about 2:24 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2024 when occupants in a dark sedan fired shots.  A 24-year-old male was driven to Community First hospital and was transferred to Illinois Masonic in good condition with gsw’s to the buttocks and groin area.  A 25-year-old male was driven to Community First hospital and was transferred to Illinois Masonic in good condition with gsw’s to the buttocks and left leg.  A 20-year-old male was transported by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Illinois Masonic -- listed in good condition with a graze wound to the left arm.  A 24-year-old male was transported by Chicago Fire Department paramedics to Ill Masonic -- listed  in good condition with a graze wound to the neck.  According to the Chicago Police Department, there is no one in custody and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by Area Five detectives. Forest Park CTA Blue Line shooting appears to be a random shooting

Police, firefighters and paramedics from Forest Park responded about 5:24 a.m. Monday, Labor Day, September 2, 2024 to a report of three people shot that appeared to be dead on a CTA Blue Line westbound train at the Forest Park CTA blue line station, 711 Des Plaines Avenue in Forest Park. When police arrived they discovered four shooting victims. The offender fled the scene; however, CTA security personnel and Forest Park police officers located a suspect after reviewing and monitoring surveillance video images. A suspect was located on a CTA Pink Line train and was taken into custody Monday morning — possibly by about 8:30 a.m. A weapon was also recovered. Forest Park police secured the scene, and discovered that three of the shooting victims were dead at the scene. One shooting victim was transported by Forest Park paramedics to a nearby hospital where the individual was pronounced dead.
