DNC Convention protest group gains ability to use stage, sound systems, portable toilets

A group of pro-Palestinian activists planning a series of protest marches during the Democratic National Convention gained the ability to set up a stage, sound systems, and portable toilets in a park near the United Center, after they were previously not permitted to establish these amenities as part of the rallies and marches during the convention.

A hearing was canceled when the Coalition to March on the DNC was granted permits to march from Union Park to Park 578 and back during the convention, and on Friday, August 16, 2024, the City of Chicago permitted organizers to setup stages or platforms, sound equipment, and portable toilets.
